Student Loan Foregiveness

New Student Loan Forgiveness Act Of 2012, Introduced In Michigan

Student Loan debts and student loan forgiveness options are in a lot people minds. So, here is an update on the student loan forgiveness act of 2012.

The Congressman Clarke introduced the student loan forgiveness act of 2012 in Michigan on March 8, Thursday. It’s obvious to all of us that this bill will help a lot of people and it will help to forgive an outstanding amount of student loan debt for those people who have made payments for a certain amount of time.

On his statement Clarke told “This provides student loan borrowers with a second chance, those who have been struggling financially, and by cutting this debt, this frees up their money to invest on their own. That will create new jobs throughout this country. It’s time for Congress to stand up for the rights of student loan borrowers. It’s time to forgive these student loan debts.”

Well, hearing that everything will be better is good but, will it really be? I guess time will show us.

This bill will give the student loan borrowers the chance of entering the 10/10 student loan repayment program.

Hopefully, we’ll keep hearing good news about this and please, make sure you check back our Student Loan Forgiveness blog to get the news.

Student Loan Forgiveness For Social Workers

The National Association of Social Workers have student loan forgiveness programs specifically made for social workers. They first started to promote proposals for social workers in child welfare and schools, and they are still trying to secure other practice areas.

If you you are wondering whether or not you are eligible for student loan forgiveness for social workers you can find more about these programs by contacting the U.S Department of Education Federal Student Aid Information Center. Unfortunately, NASW can not determine if you are eligible for these programs however you can learn more about the scholorships they have.

If you are not satisfied with the information you can find or even with the loan forgiveness programs, there is also National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program who offers to help social workers. This is a federal program and in exchange of serving for 2 years as a social worker in a community that has a shortage of health professional, if you are fully trained and licensed clinical social worker you will have $50,000 to repay your student loans.

If you are having trouble paying your student loan debt, student loan forgiveness programs are definitely a blessing. Even though, it won’t clean out all of your debts, any help you can get would be a must for you. All it requires of you is 2 years or commitment. If you are eligible for the student loan forgiveness programs as a social worker, these are just some of the employment options you have:
- Workers for child welfare
- Early childhood educators

More About The New Student Loan Forgiveness Plan

There are still a lot of talk about the new Obama student loan forgiveness plan. Some thinks it is too good to be true and some thinks it won’t be too much of an help when you think of the big picture. Either way this plan is strictly to stimulate economic growth and if it helps a few student loan borrowers along the way, how nice. Whatever you may think it is still a step forward from what we have today, and that is always good.

From the estimations every student loan borrower will keep a few hundred dollars in their pockets and that is still a pretty good number. even though there are some questions about the congress backing up this new plan, here is what it is…
Some people believes that it inappropriate for the president Obama to legislate via executive order and make this plan happen no matter what. But, this is definitely something wrong about that argument, because probably they don’t know that the congress already has passed a low with specifically these changes. The only difference is that it was set to go into effect in 2014. However the economy isn’t doing any better and moving this plan to a near future is probably the best idea. As you can see now, the only change is the time here. Wouldn’t you really prefer this to happen in 2012 than 2014.
Whatever you may think this was definitely needed and even if you think it is not enough a step forward is always a good start.
